It has been a busy summer for me. I joined a 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons homebrew campaign and have had a few sessions playing as Akil Muzara, a former Runeguard fighter for the Cynherian Empire. It has been a blast so far and sessions should be continuing by the time this posts. I have also been part of my church’s Bylaws Committee. Being a part of rebuilding such a large part of my childhood has been a privilege that I do not take lightly.
I’m still reading Dune. I finished the first part of the book about a month ago and will jump back into the book shortly. My favorite part is this House Atreides-hosted dinner for the notable Arakeen figures that becomes a very tense battle of wits as the dinner progresses. I won’t say more to avoid spoilers, but if you haven’t read the Science Fiction’s Supreme Masterpiece by Frank Herbert, you can get it here. Dune Club II has already begun for Dune Messiah.
I also wrote an article for FANDOM. It took a long time and a lot of drafts before it was publishable so please give it some love. It is the first time since starting this blog, that I have been published on someone else’s website and it is the first time that I have been published on a site with as much traffic as FANDOM. Hopefully, I will soon be able to publish another article on their site.
There have been a few delays on projects that I mentioned in the Summer Content Update. I scrapped what would have been a series of reviews for Black Lightning Season 1. Instead, my thoughts of the season will be combined with my thoughts on Luke Cage Season 2 and Black Panther to be an analysis series on the common themes and differing lessons of these additions to the superhero genre. The Written For Class series is on hiatus. I burned through my stockpile of academic content over the summer and will post more when available.
As far as Psycho-Pass: Liberty is concerned, I quickly realized how much more work needed to be done to tell the fan fiction story Akane Tsunemori and MWPSB deserve. It is the biggest thing that I will be working on. I want to have a few chapters written before I launch to avoid hiatuses in the middle of the series.
Speaking of posting, The MediaMartyr17 Blog will have new content posted every Wednesday. This is perfect for my schedule so that I have ample time to write and make last minute changes. I already have a tentative schedule for the potpourri of content that I want to create including
a review for Mission: Impossible Fallout when I watch it.
Make sure to Follow this blog so that you are alerted the minute content drops. You can also follow me on Twitter for my opinions on everything I don’t blog about; follow me on TV Time to see what shows I’m watching, and you can follow me on Letterboxd to see what movies I’ve seen this year. I’ve spent some time learning how to better use the platform and will continue to learn more in the future.
